On my Saturday long run, dancing along the shoulder of the road in the hard-packed dirt that is the foundation of the Las Vegas Valley, I remembered with great fondness my trail run through bear country in Vancouver. Bounding along through the pines and dense foliage was indeed a special treat for this desert dweller.
Ahhhh…to be back there again (as long as it’s sunny!).
Bad Behavior has blocked 153 access attempts in the last 7 days.
Don’t know about running with bears ….but it’s a good idea to keep your wits about you.
An old friend of mine (RIP), in his golden / diamond years, told me about his “best” bear experience:
After summiting a steep ridge, he noted Bear coming up the other side. Mr. Bear demurred: he stepped off the trail and let Mr. Human pass ….but, not without an appropriate comm, a “dirty” look:
Just this once, you are allowed a pass. Don’t make a habit of your shi(f)ts on “my” trail.
