Note: Thank you for your submissions! The contest is now closed and we’ll be back on Monday, July 30 to announce the winners!

How would you like to win a year’s supply of nuun?

nuun-tubes.jpgAll you need to do is submit your favorite triathlon transition tip in the comment section at the bottom of the page. Our judges will review the submissions and pick the top T1 (swim to bike) and the top T2 (bike to run) tip. The winner of each category will receive a one-year supply of nuun.

How cool is that? That means for taking 30 seconds of your time to submit your favorite T1 and/or T2 tip, you have a shot at winning a 9-pack per quarter, one tab per day or 54 gallons of hydrating goodness (retail value of $198). We want you to stay hydrated wherever you are, whatever you’re doing. nuun is perfect for training, prepping for a race, making sure you’re 100 percent going into a race, and even for helping you “re-hydrate” after a long night out. We’re excited to award you with nuun for a year and would love hearing about where and how you go with nuun.

Not familiar with nuun? nuun makes a refreshing, sugar free, electrolyte replacement drink for all your adventures. Drop one nuun tablet in 16oz of water, wait 2 minutes and voila — optimal hydration. They have four flavors: citrus fruit, tri-berry, lemon+lime, and the new kona cola.

I’ve been a nuun fan for the past year and you can see my take on this product my Field Test #1 and Field Test #2. For you short course triathletes, you can also see how I currenty incorporate nuun in my Hydration Strategies for Training in the Heat article.

How the competition will work

  • We are looking for the best short course (sprint or Olympic distance) triathlon transition tips.
  • Contestants will be asked to post their top T1 and/or T2 tip in the comments section of this page.
  • If you’re a long course triathlete, feel free to submit your tip if it would work for the short course athletes.
  • You can submit more than one entry.
  • To keep the spam-asses in check, all comments will be moderated before they go live on this page. I will do my best to get them approved and published as quick as possible.
  • Now, the million-dollar question you’re asking is: How are we defining “best?” Is it the most innovative tip or the most practical? That is subjective and is up to our panel of six tri-celebrity judges to decide. Just give us your best idea.

Timeline

  • Wednesday, July 18, 5:00 a.m. (ET): The contest begins.
  • Wednesday, July 25, midnight (ET): The contest is over and the comment section will be closed for 24 hours while the judges review the submissions.
  • Monday: July 30: We announce the winners.

I will leave this page up once the competition has concluded. Feel free to add more tips as they come to you. I’d like to make this an ongoing T1 and T2 transition resource.
